After Class Questions from 3/31/08

1. What was the most meaningful or useful thing you learned from this discussion?
-The most meaningful thing I learned was that chromolithography was the influence for the Art Nouveau style and it was a huge inspiration for letterpress printers.

2. What questions still remain in your head after today's discussion about the Victorian Era or Art Nouveau ?
-I don't have a specific question in particular, however I just feel like it's a lot of information to retain and I don't know how to sort it all out in a way I can remember it.

3. Find an example of both the Victorian style and Art Nouveau of a modern day piece of art work and explain why you think it's in that style?
-I would say that the resturant Potbelly Sandwich Works is an example of a Modern day example of Art Nouveau and the Victorian Era because of how the restaurant is designed.  The signs remind me of how the posters and ads were from back in the day.  Also, I feel like the design of the restaurant and how its set up adds to the image of these eras.  I'm also going to keep looking for more examples because I know this isn't the best one- just thought I'd try it!
